McNally Management was engaged by YHA NSW Ltd to provide project management for the redevelopment of this important archaeological site. The development consists of a 350 bed youth hostel, an archaeological education centre, preserved historic remains that are visible from internal staircases and a retail shop.
Located in the heart of The Rocks, it is blessed with views of the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and the harbour. The Rocks is one of the first settlement areas of Sydney and therefore is rich with heritage. The Sydney YHA site was found to be a place of archaeological significance. McNally Management worked closely with the NSW Heritage office to design and deliver the project, maintaining the historically significant areas for education and visitation purposes.
